MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF THE FERROSILICOMANGANESE CRUSHING PROCESS AT THE CHELYABINSK ELECTROMETALLURGICAL PLANT

This paper presents a parametric mathematical model of the ferrosilicomanganese (MnS17) crushing process in a DShch-1 jaw crusher at the Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Plant (ChEMK). The high abrasiveness and brittleness of this alloy lead to intensive wear of crushing plates, reducing production efficiency and increasing operational costs. The research aims to establish quantitative relationships between key process parameters: feed particle size (Davg), crusher shaft rotation speed (n), chamber filling degree (f), crushing plate lifespan (t0.5), power consumption (N), throughput capacity (Q). The study utilises experimental data collected at ChEMK in 2024, including plate wear measurements under various crusher operating regimes. The developed parametric crushing model incorporates: an analytical expression for throughput calculation, a semi-empirical formula for jaw crusher power consumption considering mechanical efficiency, an empirical multifactor regression equation t0.5 = f (Davg, n, f).
