Abstract

The materials of the article relate to weighing equipment, in particular to weighing of rolled steel sheet rolls and can be used in the production process of measuring the mass of manufactured rolled steel products at metallurgical plants. The purpose of the study is to increase the reliability of the procedure for weighing rolled steel rolls. The problem of the accuracy of measuring the mass of the manufactured rolled steel roll at the contractor and at the customer of the product are considered. With various technical and organizational errors, the customer's weight of the product may differ from the manufacturer's weight, which is fraught with the emergence of claims. In addition, the calculation of the theoretical mass of a steel strip, subject to continuous measurement of the main geometric parameters: thickness, width and length to find the volume of rolled products can be difficult, since the density of different steel grades can differ from 0.5 to 7% or more. The authors proposed a solution to increase the reliability of the procedure and minimize errors in instrumental weighing of rolled steel rolls. The essence of the method for predicting the mass of a rolled steel roll includes continuous measurements during the process of rolling the rolled product into a roll of the actual values of the geometric parameters of the steel strip: thickness, width and length, on the basis of which, using methods of statistical processing of the measured values, a comparison is made of the theoretical predicted values of the roll mass with the scale readings, while based on the results of the comparison, the need for re-weighing the roll to clarify its mass is determined. The results of the work have been tested, can be adapted and used in production.
